We wake up at around 9 in the morning. We were still so tired but we have a lot of things to see and do so we fix ourselves, have a breakfast and hit the street. We were on our way to Pigalle where Moulin Rouge is located when I saw the beautiful building - Madeleine church, it is surrounded by many more beautiful buildings . I ask my boyfriend to spend some time with me in the said place. Madeleine is a church dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. The construction of the said building was on and of and there are times when it was demolish and build over again. The different leaders in France have different ideas of the design and function of the building. During the time of Philip the 2nd in France, Bishop Maurice de Sully seized the synagogue that stood on the site from the Jews of Paris in 1182, and make it a holy church dedicated to ST. Mary Magdalene. On 1757 a design for a reconstruction of the old Mary Magdalene church was considered and on 1763 king Louis the 15th started the construction during his ceremonial placing of cornerstone. Two designs where attempted but every constructions are ended before it actually began before the revolution few parts of the attempted constructions are left. During the start of the revolution people debate what purpose the building might serve some suggestions are; library, ballroom and a market, place in the end of the short debate Napoleons idea was granted - the building was designed to make a classical temple for the glory of Napoleon’s army but his suggestion was only granted during his time. When king Louis the 18th take over the leadership of France he determined that the structure would be used as a church. But in 1837 it was briefly suggested to be the first railway station in Paris – the suggestion was not so taken for granted though. Near Madeleine church is a train station called Invaledes where I and my boyfriend ride a train going to Moulin Rouge

After a short trip to Madeleine church we ride a train going to Moulin Rouge located in the street of Pigalle which is the red light district of Paris. Despite the fact that Moulin Rouge is located in the red light district and it show women who are almost naked dancing on the stage, Moulin Rouge is considered to be a place of arts, beauty and elegance by many people. It is known to be the most legendary and most famous cabaret in the world. For 117 years and more Moulin Rouge has become so well known and well appreciated it has welcomed millions of spectators who have come to admire the place. Many international stars have performed on the said place; Frank Sinatra, Elton John are few of the good artest who performed in Moulin Rouge. Moulin Rouge dancers are mostly beautiful, tall, sexy and talented. We tried to make a reservation for Valentines day but Moulin Rouge is fully booked so we instead have our reservation on the 16th of February .

After we roam around the place of Pigalle. We had a short walk going to Sacre Coeur Basilica, it is located on the top of Montmartre hill. Before we arrive at the hill we pass by a road with many bargain stores with different stuffs coming from different parts of the world. I have fun looking at the different stores with many beautiful stuff for sale. I bought a refrigerator decorations – 4 pcs of it for 10 Euro, Most stores around Paris the same item is for 12 or 7 euro each. I bought two near Arc de Triomphe for 12.50 Euro each. If you have the patience and time to see the bargains you can find real good items to bring with you back to your country with less price than usual. As we walk the long ladder of Sacre Coeur we saw a lot of tourist of different nationality enjoying the place mostly; taking pictures and looking at the place with a smile on their faces. Inside Sacre Coeur Basilica we saw a lot of fine work of arts from the walls to the ceiling and the sculptures are so very beautiful. After our short tour inside Coeur Basilica we went to the left side of the church where few more bargain stores, restaurants and bars are located. There we sit and enjoy a short break. While we are sitting I saw a lot of people bringing some basic drawing materials, asking the tourist if they want a quick portrait. My boyfriend said that the real artist are near us and we will see them later. After a short stop we went to a small park where the said real artist are. I was so empress of their works. Then I pause in front a good artist to have a cartoon character drawing of me, it took only about 15 minutes for the artist to finish the job. I like it so much the portrait of me looks like one of the Bratz (my favorite cartoon characters) it cost 20 Euro. After we have a good time in the little park looking at the works of good artist we look for a place where we could have a drink and a little chat. On our way we pass by some more beautiful paintings and we also pass by many more bargain stores. Then we saw a nice bar where we had our good 20 minutes break. We continue to walk back to Pigalle and ride a train going to Invaledes train station and have a short walk to Arc de Triamphe to take few more pictures. Not long we went to Eiffel tower which is just near the last place. Eiffel tower is standing 1,063 ft tall, it is the global icon of France and is one of the most recognize structures in the world. 200 million visited the tower since its construction in 1889 making it the most paid monument in the world. The tower has two restaurants Altitude 95 on the first floor and the Jules Verne on the second floor. I was not able to experience any of the restaurants at Eiffel tower because I was not quite so interested. I was more interested to go to Pallais de Chaillot of which monumental architecture was designed for the 1937 world exhibition, the last Paris colonial exhibition stating France as the second largest colonial empire in the world ( France empire covers some parts of Africa and Asia). The Pallais de Chaillot stands just infront Eiffel tower, from the above part of it you can have a nice full picture of Eiffel tower. At the back of Pallais de Chaillot are many nice restaurants. After we took some pictures and have fun looking at the place. We start to look for a nice restaurant to have our Valentines dinner.

We have our dinner in one of the restaurants at the back of Pallais de Chaillot . From the restaurant we see the Eiffel tower and when the night comes we saw a beautiful lights all over the Eiffel tower. Many lovers sat in front the Eiffel tower some of them took a picture. It was a beautiful, lovely night in the city of lights and lovers.

How lucky to be in Paris in love. It was neat to read this. I could picture the buildings and sights in my mind. That may be the closest I'll ever get to the real thing. Thank for sharing.
